Has anyone fitted one to the early silvertop zetec engine, if so which one.. ??

I want to fit one to my 1996 mondeo 4x4 but all the ones i see seem to be for the focus and the later blactop zetec.. and the part numbers for the silvertop and blacktop belts are different so unsure if one would fit mine..

Cheers Guys..

IIRC, they are all compatible with each other. Focus, Escort, Contour, and any other car that might happen to have a Zetec motor. I ordered a MAC pulley from here http://www.zxtuner.com/main.sc, but eBay usually has a few for much cheaper. And I wouldn't go any smaller than 100mm to replace the stock one.

I had an ebay one, which was about 30bucks(plain aluminum color). It worked nice and was a good improvement but with running a sub woofer amp i killed a battery in about 1 year(2 dead cells).

Yep, thats the one I got. It was a tight fit but a rubbermallet help encouraged it on. It rev's more freely now and in the higher RPMs it has a bit more grunt. Also don't get the included belt, they dont always get it right. I think mine was an inch and a half shorter than my stock belt.

Like Devanmc said, eBay has them for cheap and I have yet to see any complaints about them. And if you are running a 300w+ sub unit, you might want to get an overdrive pulley for the alternator or invest in a capacitor.

My girlfriend orded the same one off of there for me for christmas, and they took the money out of her account and we still havent gotten anything and they wount contact us or anything. did any of you guys have the same problem?

Ok thanks so don't get their new belt, will it fit with the stock one, or measure the stock one and get one 1.5 inches shorter..

the instructions have a few part numbers for belts the fit. They fit extremely tight but do fit.

for the belt just go to the parts store and get the next size down from stock (in most cases).
