Cool Hello Everybody!

Whats up, it's truly an honor to say that i'm finally an SVT Contour Owner!! i remember the first time i saw an SVT contour and it was like 2 months after i had just bought a 98.5 VR6 Jetta and i got smoked by a CSVT and ever since i've had my eye on CSVT's..

Anyways, my name is Mac and i live in Bloomfield Twnship. and i just got a Silver Frost/Midnight Blue 2000 SVT Contour about a week ago and it's by far THE MOST FUN car to drive EVER(in my opinion).

The car was very well maintained by the previous owner, he was the original owner and religiously serviced the car at the local for dealership only. (he got the 100,000 mile extended warranty when purchased in 99) i actually have all the ford dealership paperwork for everything that had been done to the car, and to me thats always a plus when sombody includes that!

I bought the car with about 127,000 and it's SUPER clean inside, and runs great! the car got a new tranny at about 85,000 a new clutch at 90,000 new struts at 65,000 a new e-brake at 100,000 and never had any problems with the engine!

Right now the car is completely stock except for a K&N intake, but i like it that way! although i hope to learn more about CSVT's here and figure out what performance parts are highly recommended and what actually makes a difference. like strut braces? exhaust? sway bars? anything electrical, or engine parts?

My plan is to keep the car as stock LOOKING as possible but hopefully/maybe put some money into it to make it more fun to drive!

Any suggestions on what performance parts to look into or comments on what people recommend to do first would be GREATLY APPRICIATED!

I'm going to post some pictures tomorrow for everyone to check out!

Mac

Don't worry about this guy, he had to get up at the "butt crack of dawn" today and I think it has made him a little cranky.
There are a lot of helpful people there in eastern Mi, bagged is one of them.

i thought the same thing, but i guess the previous owner took the car to the dealer because 3rd gear was grinding, so they replaced 3rd gear and some other little things, and a month later he ran into the same problem, and i guess the dealership just decided to put a whole new trans in it. as for the clutch, previous owner was getting the car ready to sell and replaced the starter, e-brake assy, moon roof motor, power antenna and the clutch, these last replacements were no longer under warranty and were done at a local shop.
