Thread: Detail of my dd: 2003 Ford Focus

Default Detail of my dd: 2003 Ford Focus

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I recently purchased a 2003 Ford Focus ZX3. The car is in great shape overall:

but definitely in need of some TLC:

About 1 week after I purchased it I did a quick clay bar and Meguiar's ColoRx to add a little protection. Two weeks after that, I performed the "major" detailing required to get the surface closer to my likings

    Process included (all Meguiar's baby!):

    Wash w/ NXT soap
    #83 x 2 w/ PC
    # 80 w/ PC
    #21 x 2 w/ PC
    PlastX on lights
    ASD on tires
    NXT glass cleaner

Although I was not able to remove all of the scratches that I could see, the finish certainly looks better:

It was overcast on the day of the after pics, so direct sun shots were unavailable.

    Yeah, Foci are crap

Is that Malibu Blue or French Blue? It looks too dark to be Maliblue but it can't be Sonic as it was only an SVT color in 2003.

French blue, I believe. I would prefer a Sonic Blue SVT, but the ZX3 w/ the 2.3L is a close second!

Yeah, I thought that I mind as well us my E1's for something other than just collecting dust. I think the rims + the tint really make the car stand out.
