They are used. Removed when sound systems were updated.
As for why I have 7 sets...two daily drivers and two parts cars. That's eight sets, but the first set I tossed last year. That leaves seven.

You are referring to sets of two, where as I was thinking sets of 4... Thought maybe you had 7 different Contours!
