Hey all...quick question:
I have some Sho-Shop goodies on my car...one of them being an alluminum Under-drive pulley (but not an alternator pulley).
I changed the serpentine belt this weekend, and managed to install a stock Gates belt on it, but only after cranking the tensioner all the way to install it. I get a little deflection when I press on the belt...and can twist it 90 with effort.
My concern is if perhaps the belt is too tight. Be a h*** of a thing to break as I drive back and forth to Chicago twice a week.
Should I go for a Gates belt that is 1" longer?
