no power at the obdII

Car threw a cel this weekend. Plugged in the x cal and it didn't power up. Plugged the x cal into another car and it powered right up. Soooooo my obd2 isn't getting power. Where should I start looking. This is a new one for me.

i looked in the owners manual and there are several engine management fuses in there, but not one listed as obdII specifically

Check the cigar lighter fuse, that's where Ford most often powers the DLC.

If that doesn't get it, identify which car you're working on so drawings can be looked up.

fuse number 28 was blown. swapped the fuse and it worked no problem. 28 is for the power seats, which i dont have, and have cut the wires off. i thought i tapped off the end, but ill have to double check
