New CEG'er
I am having a problem that has stumped two mechanics as well as a SVTer friend. '98 CSVT, says 128,000 miles, don't know for sure. The car stalls at speed, such as on the freeway, refires with the clutch, sputters, stalls, then runs fine. Starting is hard, too after one of these episodes. Mechanic thinks that it's getting flooded when it stalls, making it difficult to restart. Most recent mechanic found a code for the crank sensor, which he replaced. Did the same thing driving to work this morning, so that didn't fix the problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Car is completely stock. Check engine light reappeared this morning after he had cleared the codes, but it's always thrown codes for O2 and vacuum leaks, even though it runs well.
