Mystique Young America

It might not but he was a local member from long ago and it was a young america.

I had a 1995 Young America. It was the V6 with a 5 speed manual. I bought it in 2001 with 50k miles, and drove it until 2007.. sold it, reluctantly, with 225k miles on it.. so we could buy a minivan :-(

I can post pictures if anyone is interested

Here are the pics of my 1995 Mystique Young America. Pics were taken in March 2008, as I was selling it :-(

The Mystique was a treat to drive... I drove it daily on a 120-mile commute for about 5 years. Never had a problem with the engine or transmission.... it was pretty quiet on the interstate too. The *other* problems, however... had to replace the water pump twice... had a broken steering tie rod... suffered an A/C problem... and several other repairs I can't recall at the moment. I spent $6500 to buy the car in 2001, and by the time I sold it in 2008, I figured I had put an addtional $8000 into it to keep it running! By far the highest "cost of ownership" car I have ever owned.

we knew it was time to sell the Mystique when.... our son hit 6 years old, he was too big to lay down in the back seat. We had a long road trip to take, so I removed the front passenger seat and we made a little nap area for him on the floor. My wife crammed herself in the backseat. It worked OK, but after that trip - I said "geez, i guess we need a bigger car"
