This is really more of a parts car than anything. Approximately 230k miles, runs well. Here's what's wrong with it:
  • Rusted rear brake lines
  • Front left clunking (possibly ball joint, but I haven't looked into it yet)
  • Small fuel leak near the tank
  • Broken rear springs (I will include a pair of Eibachs)
  • Moderate rust (under the side skirts, above the windshield)
  • Moldy interior
I replaced the rear portion of the rear brake lines (from the rear rubber lines up to about the middle of the car), which were rusted and leaking when I bought the car. At this time, I also replaced the rusted rear subframe with a nearly new, reinforced one from another member here, including new sway bar bushings, end links, and toe arms. When I put pressure on the brake system to bleed the brakes, a new leak formed where the rear lines come up to the firewall. I had planned to make new lines from the ABS module down to the rest of the new lines that I made, but I found that having stored the car in a garage with a dirt floor caused mold to grow on the interior, and I decided that this was now a bigger project than I wanted. The interior was near mint prior to this (no pets or kids during the life of the car). I have service records back to its warranty days.
The car is currently wearing E0 wheels (center caps are included), though I also have a set of E1s that I will sell for a little extra. The interior photo attached is from before the mold showed up.
$450.00 Located near Akron, Ohio.

Do you have a picture of any mold? Is the passenger front floor wet? Maybe the cabin air filter was letting water inside and since it's been sealed up and sitting, maybe started the mold.....

I'll try and get a pic of it tonight. No idea about the passenger floor. The car's still in the garage, but I've kept the garage door open since I discovered the mold, to keep it from trapping more humidity in there.

I just screamed out " hollllly *&%^" in my office. when i opened the pic. i would also buy that car if you were closer.

Here are some pictures showing the rusty areas. The last picture shows the original rear subframe and its replacement. The other pictures are the lower edge of the trunk lid (hard to make out in the picture but there's a little bit of bubbling), the bubbling above the windshield, which is pretty clear in the photo, the left rear fender (light rust on the lip, right rear fender is similar), and the bottom edge of the front left fender (also hard to see).

Full gut, clean, and bleach project. Still a lot of car for little money. Mold or not, the price is right.

Is this still for sale ? Kinda interested in it now that i am nearing the end of some payment plans i have been on. Please P.M me if it has not sold

I may be wrong, but if that mold is only on hard surfaces (not in the carpet or seatbelts), then it may just wipe right off with a clorox wipe. I get the same problem with my convertible Shadow if I leave it sealed up in the garage...

Still for sale. The mold would probably wipe off of the dash, steering wheel, and door panels. I'm more concerned about the seats since they're perforated, there's a chance there's mold in the seat foam.

don't wipe the seats, vacuum them. It will suck up most of the mold if not all.
If it's in the seats......eh.....you'll live. hopefully.
Good luck with sale!
