I know there has been a thread about this before but i couldnt find it to post in it, so i thought id bring it back.

Today i seen a friend i hadnt seen in over a year at a dairy queen, so i pulled up to say whats up, he asks, "Whoa dude is that a Porsche!?" :nonono:

I responded yeah dude it is, check out their new logo, the blue oval.

Basically the Taurus and the Escort.
I did have one guy say, "OMG, that's an SVT Contour" once. Turns out he used to own one. It was nice that at least one person knew what the car was.

My daughter had one guy argue with her, he said it was an Escort and she kept telling him that it was a Contour. He even made the comment that she didn't know what kind of car she actually drove. Sad thing was, he worked at a shop where she had gotten her oil changed. She never went back there after that. Her car is de-badged, so, IIRC, she showed him her Contour manual that was in the glove box. He shut up and walked away.

That ans a taurus is the only things my car get confused with

My favorite was when my friends thought my 93 tempo 2door was a fox mustang.

I have an svt contour and people often say "man that's a mean looking escort" ,or "that's a sharp taurus". :nonono: The contour... fords sometimes forgotten car!

I had friends come down from MN and WI last weekend and every time they cought up after getting cut off while driving down the interstate, they would say to each other "What kind car is that, it looks sweet". then they realized it was me. Of course, the SVT still didnt compare to his M5 but they looked good together sitting in the driveway after washing them.

Only one girl at work knew exacly what it was my reaction was  and I asked her, how u know? She said I saw it on the motor trend magazine, after that I asked her if she would marry me, but she was already married.
Everybody else thinks it's some import

LMAO!
Not many women know what these cars are nor do they care. To bad she was married. ;)

We were at a meet a while back at a restaurant in a mall. We had all the cars parked together and we were standing around talking. Mall security rolled up and asked what we were doing, he was told that we just had lunch and then he says something about us having a bunch of imports. Mall security FTL.

I often get the SE mistakened for an SVT...so :p

Same here. One of my boyfriend's friends came over to visit one day and said, " Hey, nice SVT." I told him, "Don't I wish." lol. He was surprised that it wasn't an SVT, until I told him the most recognizable differences between the two ( like dual exhaust) and that I didn't think the SVT's ever came in the Moonlight Blue exterior paint. Lol. Funny thing is, he works in the mechanic section at Sears, and with how much he likes cars, I was surprised that he didn't know. lol.
