    Default 96-97 trunk on a 98

    I apologize if I am posting this on the wrong place. If so, please move it.
    Would a older version of the contour 96-97 trunk fit my 98 se perfectly with no modification. Planning on picking one up today but just want to make sure.

    its not without modificaton, first, the tails "should" be changed as well, at first glance they appear identical, but they arent. secondly, the wiring harness is not exactaly the same.
    --current cars: 1998 contour svt # 0165, 2009 mercury mariner premiere
    --past cars: 1996 contour se, too many mods to list!!, 1999 silfro svt, 1999 tropic green svt, and tooooooooo many others to list.
