    Default O2 Sensor Bungs

I am in the process of putting my car back together. The RaceBits headers do not have the bottom O2 sensor bungs. I was wondering where I can buy some SS bungs? In addition, what would be the size/thread I need? I don't want to assume that all O2 sensors are the same, so I was wondering what the specs would have to be...

    Thanks!

i would think that many muffler shops should have some of those kicking around. bring them the sensor and i'm sure they can tell you what size bung to use.

the most common thread i've seen for O2 sensors is 18 X 1.5 MM. 18 MM diameter and 1.5 threads per MM.

You can make those up by cutting off the end of a proper sized non-fouler for spark plugs. I've done it.

I have heard of and seen online people using metric hex nuts as bungs, not sure if this is a good idea or not

I've seen this done also, quite a few times. The only difference between a nut and a bung, is the flat vs. round outside. If you pay a little more you can find bungs that are notched that follow the contour of the exhaust pipe, but with someone who can weld properly, the notching doesn't make a difference.
