Will the 3.0 liter block fit on a 96 ATX

If it is a V6 ATX, yes it will. If you intend to use the car hard, it may not be a good idea though, as the ATX isn't all that strong.

Yea its a V-6 so what kind of mods would someone have to do to convert from 2.5 to 3.0

Ok you've got a lot of searching to do...In a nutshell...Buy a 2001+ Taurus/Sable motor. Either a) port the heads and swap over 2.5 intakes or b) keep the 3L intakes and fab up some vacuum lines and replace some stuff then drop it back in. Search the old forums. A lot of info there.

You have a 20% increase in displacement. That should give you a good idea.
