Default Fluttering Power, inconsistent power across powerband.

Need some input on this issue.
Fluttering loss of power seems to occur at random RPMS. IMRC works perfect, opens when it's supposed to. New plugs, resistance tests fine across wires. EGR has been cleaned, and new controller unit installed.
New alternator, but does the headlight dimming.

So the power loss for example can occur during WOT, 4500k-5000k, smooth to 5500k, power loss from 5500 to 6000k, then smooth to redline. It is just small, but still very noticeable.

Someone give me some reasons to why this could happen. I don't believe the alternator is the problem , however that "voltage hunting" could very well be the reason.

Hopefully someone has seen this problem before.

    Thanks in advance!

Replaced the fuel filter tonight, problem still remains. But wow, you can physically hear that fuel pump whining at you now!! Hopefully benefits to come with that.
Oh, its a 2000 SVT in case anyone wonders.

Tested resistances across Ignition coil pack, all seem fine. Installed new plug wires, and inspected all plugs. Car seems to be OK with new plug wires, but filled tank full at the same time, so possibly it is the fuel pump, I'll find out when its below half tank.
It seems like it doesn't flutter anymore, but strangely feels down on power, like it doesnt have the powerful moments, just the dead moments - all the way through the rev band.

Yep! Mine started again tonight. Thought I had it fixed. Gas tank is a little lower now though, so maybe its fuel pump.
But if it's a fuel pump, I would expect to see power loss all the way to redline.
I have a crazy idea that maybe it's the AC compressor. I'll do a couple tests tomorrow.
    Keep me posted kcobra

    Not the AC compressor.
Gonna try a new fuel pump.... Damn it. $140 from CarQuest here in Canada. Here on Monday, I'll keep ya posted

I just ordered a blue-tooth obd2 reader so I can actually look at what the data coming from the pcm is saying before I start throwing money at the problem.

I didn't realize there was such a thing, or even realize that a computer can actually throw more codes than the check engine reveals.

I'll try driving around tonight with my ODB plugged in, and see what happens? Or does that take a fancy machine to read on the fly?

the bluetooth adapters are available on ebay ford around 20-30 bucks. if you search" torque for android" on google Their webpage also shows some of the readers as well. My reader should be here in the next day or so so i will let you know how it works.

Also generally the cheaper scan tools do not allow datalogging or live data feeds from the pcm.

Yep, mine didn't read live feed. Its only got 2 buttons, I should have assumed.
But I did notice tonight, that the power delay almost seems constant with time, not rpm; Ie, hit the gas, regardless of gear or rpm, 3 second delay no power, then on comes the jets, until you shift (release foot from gas), and problem resumes.
I cant wait to see what your live feed reads on this bad boy. Fuel pump here tomorrow, going in at 5pm. Hopefully not a waste of money. But judging everyone elses fuel pumps, probably going to fail if I dont change it anyway
