Well I am pretty set on picking up a set of SHM equal length long tube headers for my 3L. I have not seen them in person yet and the only picture I have found of them was from the guy I am buying them from that only shows the rear header and not the front or the y-pipe piece. From the little bit of reading I did I found that there were issues with having to notch the subframe for the rear header, oil filter might need to be relocated, and that connecting it to an exhaust is going to be custom. Just seeing if anyone on here has any additional info or opinions on these. Heres some links of things i found so far.

I currently have msds headers and y-pipe on my full 3L. With the SHM headers I plan on doing a port and polish on my heads, as well as the most high flowing intake parts at the same time of install. Trying to work on getting as much NA power I can.

you do know they have not been made/available in like 10 years .... and only a few sets where ever sold

and you do know that sicse stumbled upon those headers randomly?

Well aware of that, I stumbled upon these ones randomly too, and cant pass them up. Basically just wanted to start a thread to get some discussion going on about them. If Sicse gained 10whp with these headers from gutted precats and custom y-pipe on an untuned hybrid 3L, imagine what they could do with a proper catback, good heads, and a dyno tune? As far as the install I know he said that the oil filter for sure has to be relocated, fine with me as an oil cooler would be ideal during the process. As for the subframe being notched I didn't see anything about him having to do that, but I guess some people said that gtopete mentioned that.

a member on neco has a set that has never been installed. they are pretty. he really should have them reproduced. I was supposed to get a set at the beginning of the year but the person that had them flaked on me

looking at that rear header, couldn't you just run true duals without a y pipe ? .... G.

I'm guessing as long as the rear Y's aren't a restrictive crush split like the oem y pipe, you're not really going to notice a massive difference ....G.

The silver bracket holds the pressure 'trees' that are part of the main engine wire harness connections. The connectors clip together, and are held in place on that bracket on the rear valve cover.

nope, never had it on there in the 7 years ive had the car, and honestly never really looked at the 01 on that side to pay that much attention to it
