    Lightbulb Recommendations for new color

I have a light denim blue 1998 se but the paint on the front bumper is peeling and on the hood is highly faded so I am ether going to just repaint it or change the color.

I went to Maaco today and they said that for the same color it would cost about 500 for basic paint and around 700 for a color change

I would like to get ideas for a different color ( by the way I have gray interior) and I would like to know if any one has used Maaco before and if the cheapest paint, the ambassador, is good quality or should I should go for the other level.

You get what you pay for. My advice is to not go with Macco. At that price (even the more expensive pain jobs at Macco) will look horrible. Even if you are not planning on keeping the car for a long period of time, it will be to your advantage to have it painted at a reputable paint shop. It might be a little more money but if money is tight, Id hope that paint is the least of your concerns.

look around at some of the tech schools. i've seen some pretty good paint jobs come out of auto body classes for just the cost of supplies.

honestly, since you are still in HS paint should not be at the top of your list. the HS, and then college, parking lot is probably the most dangerous place for a car to be, especially if you get it freshly painted.

Its just a beater high school car. I wouldn't bother painting it. You'll be putting money into a car that your never see again. However if I did, I definitely wouldn't change colors. For that price they don't spray the door jambs or under the hood.

My father had a car painted at our local vocational school. It came out great. They have a great auto body program with knowledgeable and talented teachers.

Got any pics of this car? I might consider spraying just the bumper and hood.

The 700 was with the door panels trunk and engine bay painted but it would run a little more, that was just from a quick 5 min estimate.
