EGR Tube temp?

does anyone know how hot the EGR tube gets that comes off the back exhaust manifold? i've got a crack in mine and don't have access to as welder until monday... so i was wondering if JB Weld would work, but it's only good to 500f

IDK if it gets that hot or not, but if your worried about it, try some chimney sealant from the hardware store. Some of it is good up to 2000F I believe

exhaust gas can be extremely hot, which makes sense since the combustion temps in the cylinder can reach 3600*F. the exhaust manifolds can easily see over 1500* and since the EGR tube comes off the manifold i imagine it can see some pretty high temps as well. I think it would depend on where in the tube it was cracked, since it will be cooler farther from the exhaust manifold.
