Thread: Thoughts?

    Default Thoughts?

    What do you think?
    TT

I drove it today, just for kicks. To be honest, I was quite impressed. Nice power, minimal lag. VERY nice steering and braking feel. Extremely tight and solid car. Handled well...I think it has the sport suspension package. Yummy 18" wheels.
Red leather??? It looks better in person. I wasn't sold on it, but I actually liked it more than I thought I would.

I'll see if Ashley wants to test drive it. I have a feeling that she'll like it (very Beetle-esk ).

Still not sure if I'm ready to buy a sporty car...should probably be saving $ for a down payment on a house... Bah! Who needs a house when you've got AWD and a turbo charger?!?

I don't like Audi's that much...everyone I have ever known has had probs.

Here is the sure fire way to get a car you'll like a long time...after you drive it and like it....then wait for a couple months to buy one...see if you still like it.

That's why I buy so many cars...I like it when I drive it, and then I get bored of it.

Like I don't know that my Maxima will even be hanging around a long time...like maybe until the summer!!!

I was looking at one when I decided to go for the Volvo. Same color. You have my thumbs up on it.

How is it you go from something that can actually outbox a Volvo to the opposite end of the spectrum?

I loved my Audi so much, best freakin car ever ! but repairs are insanely exspensive and on my income, and the wife going to school full time, it just was not the right timing for us to have a lux. car. When the wife starts working and making some $$$$$ then Audi it will be again. S8 for me though, sports cars should be a RWD american cars. -B.

PS: looks sweet by the way

One of the AZ NECO guys traded in his Cougar for a 2001 TT Convertible with the same drivetrain (225hp I-4 turbo'd 6-speed), and its a damn nice car. I've ridded with him on the street and at the track, and it is a quick mofo in a straight line, and the chassis feel is very nice and firm. Beyond that, IDK much about them, but he REALLY likes his TT.

This car comes w/ 50,000 mile warranty, which is pretty sweet. Problem with that, however, is that I'd be driving 90 miles to get warranty work done. Believe it or not, there's a decent VW/Audi shop in The Dalles, but they're not a dealer so no warranty stuff. I'd be ok with them working on the car if necessary.

I have considered maint. costs as well as the VW/Audi reliablity. I was trying to find crash test ratings, but could only find front passenger. Any help on that?

B - it's a really classy car. I never really thought about it being a "luxury" car, but I guess you're right. I LOVE the fact that it's not loaded with Luxo-BS like navigation, TV/VCR, microwave, etc.

Taylor - I'll likely take your advice. If I still like the TT after a few months of looking, it's probably a good car for me. (Um, and the Mrs. too ) As sweet as this car is, it's not the best timing.

I still want to get Ashley to test drive a TT. If she really didn't like the car, I wouldn't buy it.

Can't go wrong with the AWD. I love mine/my parents, as the mechanic who works on our Audi say. . ."the cars have personality." And that is so true, while my dad swears one day he is going to sell the Audi he can't bring himself to do it. They have an awsome torque curve, they handle awsome, they have AWD, and they are a smooth riding car on the highway. Derek I definantly say go for it, especially with the warranty. . .if things start going really wrong you can sell it.

Like mentioned before repairs are expensive, to change out all four 02 sensors on my family's it was going to be about 600, the sensors were outragous, cause labor wasn't much work I could see them easily.

My A8 had the turn signal handle quit working. No signals and headlights. Had to take it to a local euro. shop. $300 for the signal arm and $80 for labor. They had to pull the steering wheel off, and I did not want to mess with the wiring in the wheel and the airbag. Audi dealer said it would be $560 installed ! Warranty is important, but I soooooooooooo miss my A8. Go get your wife in it, and buy that TT and enjoy the ride ! -B.

Nice cars, but that one seems a bit expensive. I've seen some go for almost 10k less. I'd say shop around. Also, are you going to be modding it?

Nice choice for a TT! S-line, a year with nice factory wheels and is a good starting point for a fun car IMO. Those red interiors aren't so loud as the pics make them out to be, much better in person.
I personally love the way they look with a few suspension mods and a set of nice lipped wheel, and they are very hot IMO!

A better set of wheels could be chosen over these, but you get the idea.

Check the G35 Premium Coupe out, I think you'd like that a car a lot! I stopped even thinking of the TT when I was looking.
