I had a guy tell me the car sold while I was on my way to meet him . Apparently someone snuck in earlier than their appointment and snagged it. You'll find another one pop up.

Took me all but 5 years to find an SVT. Just settled for the 2.5l SE in the mean time. When i did find one it was well worth it. Stick it out.

well seeing as your from chicago, and it seems like 75 percent of svt's for sale are in the great lakes region, you shouldn't have too much trouble finding one. the problem is its still winter and most people wait till either spring or fall to sell their cars. like others have said wait a few months and you will find what your looking for.

You'll find something. Chicago is the best central area to find SVTs.

Unfortunately, this is the reality of buying cars in this price range. Regardless of what people say, they almost never keep their word about holding the car for you.

I was searching for a car for a friend in the $2k range for the last few months. Every time we went to look at something and most likely buy on the spot, it sold just hours before when they said they were holding it for us. We actually showed up to buy an Explorer and suddenly it was sold for "about an hour" when 30 minutes before we called and it was still available.

    Keep searching! You'll find something.

you think thats bad, I was heading down to kentucky ( I live in michigan) with a buddy to go pick up a car for him, half way down there the idiot owner calls and tells us he doesn't want to buy it! also we once drove to ohio a 5 hour trip to look at a car that was a pile of trash but the guy lied and showed older pictures of it in good shape.
