Thread: Temp gauge

    Default Temp gauge

I have seen posts but still need help. My temp gauge seems to work, but only under the first line before the N in normal. the needle moves to the line and that seems to be where it would normally be at r or m in any other car. fan kicks on as soon as it hits the line it seems. How do you replace the temp sender? where is it at? can i replace it myself? it is just connected to the engine and has nothing to do with the coolant right? it wont leak anything out? i dont know much but maybe i can replace it if i know where its at.

it does read coolant temp so a little will leak out. the sender for the gauge is located on the underside of the thermostat housing.

FWIW, I've swapped out the gauge cluster itself multiple times, and I've changed out the temp sender, and it never made a difference. It always gets to a certain point and stops.

does your car heat up normally? if so you might consider leaving well enough alone

Contours are transportation, good transportation but just transportation at the end of the day.
