Oil level as shown on dipstick

Just a quick question.

On our dipstick, how much is a quart? Ie., inch? half inch? Quarter inch?

If the oil level is about 1/4 - 1/2 inch above the full mark, should I bother draining any out? My hunch is that its not enough to cause any problems.

Did you change the oil and filter, or just add more?

If you changed the oil and filter run the car a bit. The filter takes a good bit of oil.

Yes, I ran it. It is overfilled, I'm just not sure if its by enough to worry.

I run 5 quarts instead of 4 1/2, its only a little bit past the full mark on the dip stick. Maybe 1/4 inch.
