Default Do Projector Lights Dim From Stereo

I wondered if projector lighting Dims from the Stereo. I wasn't sure if the ballast maybe helped keep a constant amount of volts to the lights. Thanks

First off, you're talking about HID's not just projectors when you talk about ballasts. You can have halogen projectors.

On to the topic, if you properly wire your HIDs then you will be pulling power directly from the battery, so any malfunction will be because of your battery.... and you'll have more problems than just dimming lights at that point. If you take the easy way out and dont properly wire your system then yes, it is possible for the HIDs to malfunction. They wont dim, they will just cut off. The ballast requires a constant 12 volts and will regulate it down to a constant for the bulbs

Like pudmunkie said HID's are made from a spark so they can't dim.

But his "projector" thing must not be related to something other than headlights because he posted his thread in Audio/Video.

Uncorrect....it could very well be a bad alternator not fully charging the battery or the fact he has a serious sytem and only one battery but it is not always the batteries fault. The headlights dim usually due to hard hitting bass and low RPM's on most peoples cars if they do not take into cionsideration what the extra load they are putting on the cars charging system will be. I say get your alt rewired for more output or add a second battery....

    People suck.
    Rev it till it MELTS.....

HID's will not dim judge. They are either on or off. The ballasts keep a constant charge coming to keep the gas ignited inside of the bulb. If the system is serious enough to take the power away from the ballast the HID bulb will shut off.

Also re-read your post... It could very well be the alternator, but when I was speaking of battery that was included. Sorry I should have been more specific and said charging or electrical system
