Festiva!

Well, my Festiva is officially on the road! After pretty much redoing the entire braking system it is up and running. What a pain that was. Every time I replaced a brake line and went to bleed the brakes another line would burst in spectacular fassion. Anyway, here's to 40 mpg and dirt cheap insurance!

To tell you the truth I am a little sketched out driving it on the highway. I think if I hit a bird I will total it.

I believe Leno owns two of them now. That would be insane. There are several other Mazda engines that pretty much bolt in that I was thinking of if this thing makes it through the winter, but who knows. I have a Contour that needs my money first. A 180 hp turbo 1.8 would be nice in an 1800# car though...

There were substantial cosmetic and mechanical changes, including relocating the gas tank to the front of the car, structural bracing and improvements to the chassis, adding wider wheel arches to accommodate a wider stance and larger tires, and a complete redesign of the suspension. These changes resulted in a car that could travel the ¼ mile (0.4 km) in 12.9 seconds at 100.9 mph (162 km/h), and could achieve a lateral acceleration figure ranging from .95 to 1.04 g [1].
