im renting a house out here and a tree had fell on my car from the storm we had with the big wind. anyways a tree lim hit my car and put a nice big dent under my rear window above the gas gap and i beleive it push the frame in too. my question is isnt the property owner is reliable for trees falling and hitting my car? isnt that what house insurance is for? he told me his house insurance wont cover my car it's just the house only. i was also told my car s part of the property and on the property. i was thinking of calling his house insurance they wont opn till next wednesday. let me know thanks.

Usually it would fall under house insurance if you owned the home. Renters insurance would cover your car in this case. If you don't have renters insurance you could also file a car insurance claim and said that you were at Walmart when it happened.

I know home owners will cover a car but seeing that it’s not your home I don’t know in this case. Renters (from what they told me when I got it) only covers things inside the home/apt. Go luck

I thought that the car was the one thing on the property that the insurance would not pay for. That is because you have car insurance.

i have talked to a lawyer and he told me his house insurance has to pay. he told me it's not an auto claim and i told him his house insurance wont cover it. so he told me to write the the state of washington insurance commisioner.

Dude, have you checked out the number of trees around here? It is difficult at times not to park next to or underneath a tree in ANY weather.

I have 4 large pines in the backyard, and if any of 3 biggest fell to the south, a good part of the house, my car and the neighbor across the street would be hit. Even the smallest one would reach to the end of my driveway.

Then there is the large Cedar in the front yard which if it fell to the west, you hit my car and the cars in the driveway next to my house.
