Default 3rd clutch??? is something else wrong?

guys, i'm on my third clutch now (only put 13,000 miles on the car in 3 years)....it was broken in properly and it is now starting to slip in 4th and 5th....

the guy who replaced it for me this summer also said the slave cylinder in the transmission itself was leaking somehow so he replaced it. when he went to bleed the lines it wouldn't bleed. he found the boot in the secondary slave was not working properly.....so he replaced that and bled the lines.

i sold the clutch disc to a guy on ebay and he's had no problems with it whatsoever.

i purchased a new spec stage 3 clutch (previously had a stage 1) just to make sure........

so anyways the stage 3 has been good for about 6 months and is now starting to act up.

occasionally my clutch pedal loses pressure or something because it doesn't want to bounce all the way back up.......sometimes it will just stay on the floor....(only happened twice).

what can I do to diagnose my problem as I'm 100% sure it's not the clutch disc, pressure plate or flywheel. (flywheel was resurfaced for the stage 3).

    Thanks guys.

sounds like there is air in the release bearing (slave cylinder) lines. bleed them and see waht happens. i've had my spec stage3 for about 6 months and around 14k miles, i cant make it slip. are you sure its slipping? my car gets lugged down when i shift at low rpms in high gears, which some people mistake for slipping. if you do feel slipping, i would bleed the line before you get all crazy and start taking it apart....

You may also check for a leak somewhere in the master cylinder or booster. Do your levels change at all in the master over a month or so???

Since you are on your third clutch:
Did you have the flywheel surfaced two or three times?
I'm betting they didn't do a two-step surface on the flywheel and that now the distance between the flywheel friction surface and the pressure plate friction surface is now so great that there is very little clamping force.

I bet that if you just buy a new stock flywheel or new fidanza that will solve the problem. If your disk isn't burnt up then you can use it again. If it is a spec stage 3 then it probably is fine and can be resused. Those disks require a lot of pressure but once they are clamped they don't slip!

AMEN ON THE SPEC3! oh and you know what, your probably right. Mike(CSVT49) had that problem too he had to get two spec stage1's because they didnt resurface the flywheel right.
