I think I've narrowed down my problem of shaking idle and bucking to the engine or tranny mounts. I can see the engine shifting. When I have the car in park, and manually rev the engine with the throttle cable, I can see the engine pick up and drop back just a little. The movement is obvious on the front mount- down below the exhaust manifold. It moves up about 1 inch then drops back down again when the engine first revs. Is this a true sign of a bad mount? And if so, what am I looking at for price for replacement at a garage?

yeah Id say thats a bad mount. Not sure exactly how much they were, but I remember something around 300 bucks, whatever the price, it wasnt cheap.

yeah i tried searching and couldnt find the darned link. I REALLY dont want to have to shell out that cash right now. What ya think tony? HOw long can I leave something like that?

I don't know. When my car felt weird (when I had it in Reverse), I checked the tranny (note that it is very obvious with a V6), and saw that it was sitting on the subframe, I decided that it was better to spend $50 to get it done then rather than wait for it to affect the tranny and then have to spend major deniro on it.

I will post that link you are talking about when I find it. But as for the link to the how to, here it is. Note that this is for a V6. The I4 is similar.
