OK, so as some of you may know, I have a V6 tach installed in my Zetec. I did the resistor mod to make the tach read correctly. Today when I started my car, the RPM's were REALLY high, or so the tach said. As it turns out, the tach is reading ~ 3x the actual RPM's. I'm not too good with electrical and whatnot, but could this be caused by a worn out resistor by chance? Or maybe the solder has busted loose? I feel this might be the case, because I installed the resistor to make the tach read HIGHER than it's supposed to in the first place. I'm guessing not enough current is flowing. Now with that being said, does anyone else have any ideas? Or am I on the right track and should I just fix the solder? (I really don't have the time to go through the time to take apart the cluster now, school is killing me...)
