Infrequent visitor, but I rememebr there used to be an STS build thread by Auto-X Fil on here but I can't find it and the old forums seem to be down. Does anyone have it saved?
Thanks

Actually, I would like to know this too, as I was looking for it the other day, before the site went down.

DSP is the way to go. The contour would be weak in sts.

I know I know, but I'm not interested in DSP. Doing the sensible thing rarely has anything to do with motorsport as the sensible thing is to stay home and save the money
As I said in your AWD>1WD thread I'm trying to decide what to do autocross or Rallycross.
If I autocross I don't go SCCA, I run the with the local council of sports car clubs that don't use SCCA rules, although there's a lot of cross pollination with the SCCA, people running both. They have a street tire street mod type class where cars are split into three classes, the Contour is in the slowest class along with mini's, Neon's etc.. I'll never equal those dominant mini's and Neon's and Civics, but I'm looking for input for a fun car. The winning cars are all STS legal even though you can do much much more, but that's because they are national level STS drivers in a small pond.
I'm done with R compound tires, I'll stick with street tires from now on. I don't want to win a championship, I want to have fun and not be DFL. Last time I ran the Contour in an autocross I (06 I think!) I finished mid pack with bone stock suspension and grocery getter tires even though I was in the street mod type class. Before I got the car it had a sho Shop catless Y pipe, CAI and subframe connectors, short shift kit plus I added SVTF brakes. No of those things other than the brakes really help autocross performance, but I can't reverse them without spending $$ and I don't want to do that to go backwards. The subframe connectors and brakes are already beyond DSP.
