Thread: Mechanical or electrical fuel pressure?

Default Mechanical or electrical fuel pressure?

I am now in the ballpark of getting a fuel pressure guage to reassure me of my fuel delivery. I noticed the electrical is 200.00 and the mechanical is 50.00 did anyone come across a problem with running fuel into the car. I can just imagine 55 psi leak that would go all at once in the car. I even thought about mounting my oil and fuel outside on the a/c vents above the windshield wipers. But then I have to worry about someone cutting the feed line to the guage and up goes my car in fuel and maybe fire. Is there a safe way of mounting the mechanical guage like the electric sender which could be monted under the hood. Just wondering if anyone done either and what might I consider when buying the guage.

No one really runs a fuel line into the car, they leave the mechanicals outside but usually visible through the windscreen.
Get an electro-mechanical gauge system. They will run you $200 but safety first.
