well theres your problem, paint is all about paitence, you can make rattle can look awesome if you do the proper prep work.

go look at mystiqueeviltwin's t-red fender paint, it looks awesome! Or I had bagged do both of my painted reflectors on my last two contours, and they both looked like factory paint.
 
I agree with Jared^ if you take the time you can make it look good. I did all my interior in vader and it looks like it was sprayed in a booth, and its krylon fusion.
 
That is a great job! This is going to motivate me to do some of my own work....don't know if it will come out that great thought: )
