Hi, Peecoman here. This is my first post. I've been browsing through this sight for weeks and have found allot of good info that has helped me repair my 1995 Mystique V6. I have replaced many of the emission controls as well as the timing chain tensioners, plugs & wires. The car starts and idles normally but when I put into gear (automatic) and punch the throttle, it doesn't have the same power it use to have. The engine is very smooth but will not accelerate the car very rapidly. It has an odd CEL code, 593, that is not in any book that I have. Any hints would be much appreciated.

just a hunch, but make sure the secondaries are not stuck open. depending on the cause open secondaries will cause a loss of low end power without throwing a CEL. not sure what 593 means, no mention of it on this site.

I think I found the answer.

I think I found the answer.

The car was sitting for about 1 & 1/2 years with 5/8 of a tank of gas. I think the gas went bad because I just added about 4 gallons and it seems to run allot better. Does this sound reasonable to you guys?
For the 593 CEL code, I wired up a little circuit to cut power to the bulb after the engine starts. That should get me thru inspection since they don't check for emmisions for 1995 and earlier in my state.

Replaced PCM?
Early build?

keep in mind that untreated gas goes bad after about 30 days or so. thats why you add a fuel stabilizer to your lawn mower tanks, etc.
