Default 3L atx, how much of a gain with the CD4E/

Only reason I ask is because I was consideing the swap when someone said with the CD4E, it's not worth it. I agreed although I know there has to have been someone who's done it with the CD4E in their contour or mystique, was it worth it? (hybrid swap)

I cannot answer that, but I can tell you that the 3.0 in my Escape runs extremely strong. I can only imagine how strong it would run with less weight.

If you are going to do this, you might consider getting a very low milage Escape engine AND trans.

I understand that, but through the wheels I imagine I won't feel it as much off the line maybe, but I'm going to keep researching, and see what I can do, I have the money, just not the time to get in there. Speaking of Escape, we rented one it drove really strongly but again it was an 06 with low mileage so meh, it had that good umph though, so I'll consider that experience.

I beleive that Russel3L (I think that's his name on here) was running low 15's with his 3L atx... I'm not 100% sure of that though...

Isn't part of the reason the a 3L ATX is not recommended is because it can't handle the power produced?

    Correct me if I'm wrong.

The trans is not as strong as the MTX, but if the mods are light and it isn't abused, it should hold up reasonably well.

The bigger limitation is the overall gearing.

    At least that's my $.02
