I hear bad things about them. Whatt's the life expectancy of the motor after these are installed? Also, what's a good brand?

I have been debating on weather or not to buy myself a set.

Underdriving the crank by removing the stock damper is not one of the best ideas

    Sometimes.

    To answer your question.

    Yes & No.

The 3L uses multiple different dampers and pullies. Yes our, CDW-27, 2.5L damper/pulley works on the 3L engine.

I don't recommend removing the stock damper. Yes some have done it without long term issues.
