Thread: AC condenser

    Lightbulb AC condenser

    Has anybody taken out the AC,to relief some extra ponies from the car?just brainstorming and thought I would ask.thanxs!

    or can you bi-pass the condenser with a shorter belt? i dont know i havent looked

    yes some people have either bypassed the ac compressor by using the non-ac belt on the car and there are a few that have removed the sytem ...

    You will not gain ANYTHING by bypassing the system.

    You will gain the equivalent of about 25lbs of dead weight if you remove the compressor and all hoses, etc. You could just as easily remove 25lbs of something else for the same savings.

    When installed, but not in use, the compressor clutch pulley freespins, so there is no drag, and no "waste" of horsepower.

    Turning the AC off is the same thing as bypassing it, with the small exception of the FRACTION of a horsepower of the freespinning pulley itself.

    Ok so basically there is no difference if you take it off or not.Thats for the info guys!really appreciate it.
