Thread: P0304...pulling my hair out

  1. Default P0304...pulling my hair out

This car is going to drive me nuts. I'm getting a P0304 code and the blinking MIL. If I clear the code it won't return except under hard acceleration. I've replaced the plugs (even though they've only been in about 4 months) and fuel filter. I didn't do the wires since they are only about 4 months old. It does seem like the engine loses power and it changes "tune" right before the light starts blinking. I've also removed / reseated all the plug wires at both ends.

Should I go ahead and replace the wires again or look elsewhere?

BTW, I "red neck" stethescoped the injectors and they all seem to be clicking.

    Injectors always tick.

Try replacing the wires...they aren't too expensive.

Just because an injector is ticking does not mean it is not broken. You may need a real time scan (1 hour diagnostic) to determine if it is the injector or wires or coil.

Test the coil yourself (Autozone link)
