Struts can be found here for $55.95 http://www.car-stuff.com/cs_auto/mm...7a9647e3bb&roikwd=Ford+Contour+Strut+Assembly

It is the 3rd product down on the left side. It says on the bottom of that item description it will fit the 98 SVT. Googled the part number and saw this site: http://www.drivewire.com/vehicle/mercury-mystique/strut-assembly/

Same part numbers except it says for the Mercury Mystique. I need 2 rear stuts, so thinking of buying 2 W0133-1699797 Mystique struts for $41 each. Anyone know if the struts are interchangeable with Contours? Thanks

It should be the same strut but keep in mind thats just a basic replacement strut and even the SVT springs might make it wear out kinda fast.

Thanks I'll get these then can't be any worse than the blown struts I have now. Besides I'm not gonna do any drifting with these. Cant beat 2 struts for $82 bucks.

If you're gonna buy regular struts for a performance car at least get them locally with a warranty so you can swap them out when they do go bad.

that sounds like a very good idea .... if not check out BAT INC and get a set of their struts. They are really good for the price, are alittle stiffer and can handle lowering springs if you choose to go that way in the future.

also check out the FAQ, lots of good info there .

I have kyb's on lowering springs with approx 50K miles on them. They are toast and my car bounces like no other!

You get what you pay for, $41 for a strut pretty much means you are going to be changing them again in about a year.
