    Default ipod mounting station

so i jus bought the new 30GB ipod video the other day and hooked it up in my car. I like it cept for i have a cord dangleing all the time so i can hook it up and i have to put the ipod in weird places while i'm driving.
Has anyone ever made a custom holder or base for it in your car that you can put it on while drving so that it doesnt slide around or sit in your cup holders or somthing?
I'm thinking about making a custom mounting station for it and mount it on the dash somewhere. Jus wondering if anyone else has already done it so i can get some ideas.
    If so, pictures?

They make Ipod holders that expand to perfectly fit inside cup holders. My friend has one, don't know where he got it, thinking Best Buy?

For my Sirius headunit, I took out the rubber cupholder inserts and drilled it right into the plastic. Looks really and I can always just put the rubber insert over the drilled holes if I sell the car.

i have an iPod holder mounted in that 'useless' space to the left of the center vent. Got holder from www.ProClipUSA.com I made a bracket for the mount out of a 5.25" drive bay panel. I'll try to post pics when i get home

*update * pics, kinda crappy but you see what i'm talking about
