'98.5 Aluminum MAF same as plastic '00?

Title says it all, I have a '00 svt. My MAF has gotten a little screwy likely due to a slight over-oiling of my KKM intake. Ive tried cleaning it over and over and still no improvement. I bought a used MAF from a CEGr but when it arrived it was aluminum. It is from his 98.5 SVT. My '00 SVT has a black plastic MAF. Are they compatible?

My MAF housing is black plastic and sits on an aluminum tube.

If the maf you replace it with is also from an SVT or probably even another contour, then it should be just fine and well within the PCMs ability to correct for any variations.
