    Default Unique Hightowers??

Hey guys, sorry if you'd rather have this in the lighting section, just thought it would get more views here.

I searched quite a bit on this and the old forum and haven't seen a style of hightowers done this way, maybe there have been sets done if so let me know.

I haven't decided if the side reflector will stay or go, if I got rid of it I wanted to at least have a brighter marker/turn signal light. My previous car had blacked out turn signal housings and the output from them was pitiful. I also thought an all black hightower was a bit too much for the front. So I came up with this. I used silver polish to take off the chrome and I also left the chrome in the 3 accent stripes at the top.

Let me know what you think, sorry for the quality of the pics, camera phone

Either way I am quite fond of how they turned out, few finishing touches to be made, going to polish the plastic to get a little more gloss.

I dont see what you did different, I painted my hightowers in the same fashion you have with you silver polish... I guess it could just be the camera phone pictures...

with hightowers you are supposed to paint the chrome housing for the headlights, the headlights obviously have 3 pieces, the back which has all of the reflectors in it, the chrome bezel and the lens; you unscrew the chrome bezel alone and just paint/sand that.

I did my hightowers that way and the light output on the turn signals is great, if not more visible than stock due to the color contrast.

Yeah but from what I gathered everyone takes all the chrome off the bezel, I kept the reflector(read chrome backing) for the turn signal instead of removing or painting over all the chrome.

Ok maybe I'm blind haha, but it seems everyone blacks out the ENTIRE turn signal area, as in no more chrome to the side of of the headlight projectors, so an all black bezel and turn signal area. I've seen only seen pictures the way I've done it by a shop that did a retrofit for someone.

Mine look like those obviously sans projector, that's what I'm getting at, just the back chrome left for the turn signal, all else black.

Ok yeah I see it now. I guess it was just the lighting/bad quality. It looks good. Take some more pics when you get them on the car

Yes, typically the turn signal area is blacked out but it's been done many times before though with the turn signal area left chrome.

Yeah I figured as much, just wasn't able to find any pics of them that way except the above ones.
