Default Keep your eyes out for a rifle!

I want to buy one. Local preferred and I am hoping to spot a good deal.

I am thinking a .270 Not a cheapo brand, but one I can buy and last forever.

With or without scope...I'd rather have a scope on it, bu can always get one later too.

    Just let me know.

I know of a few good 10 and 12 ga. shotguns that are up for sale.

just bought a nice little remington 12 ga.
For a rifle...I would rather have a 7mm mag, but If I found a killer deal on a .30-06...I'd take that too.

What will you be using this rifle for? If you're using it for mule deer, you might be ok with either. I know some old timers that get away with .308. IMO, it's all in good optics and practice. A kill shot is a kill shot. If it's elk or moose, you might want to get something bigger. A lower cost, but good bolt action rifle is a Ruger.

Varmits like coyotes or even whitetail deer (), you might want something smaller.

If you want a good .308, I would reccomend a DPMS. $1100 would probably get you into one.

I think the 7mm mag is as big as I need. The more I research...the less I am sure what to get.
    Win model 70...last gun I shot...I liked
Rem 700 always cool...I checked out an SPS
Savage 116 with ss barrel...supposed to be very accurate out of the box.
I like synthetic...not much of a wood guy.

I may just go see what I can get at the gun show next weekend!

What price range are you looking at? A gently used Weatherby can be had for a good price. I had one in 22-250 for sniping coyotes, and it was one of.... if not the best bolt-action rifles I've owned.
