    Default will 2004-2008 focus shift knob fit 2000 CSVT?

    will a shift knob from a 2004-2008 ford focus fit the contour. any problems with the reverse lockout?

    its Ford Part # XS4Z-7213-AB if that helps

    what is a reverse lock out? ive never heard of that before lol...

    That's because you drive an ATX.

    It's the ring below the MTX know that has to be pulled up in order to get into reverse. It prevents you from accidentally shifting into reverse.

    yea but the real question is does it ever work with an aftermarket shifter (reverse lockout). with my b&m i dont even have to lift it, and yes the raised portion on the shifter base is still on mine. its completely worthless on my shifter

    i have a B&M shifter and a focus RS shift knob. i think the knob is off an 03? maybe its a ST shift knob. i forget.

    I have been without it for 8 months now, and have never "accidently shifted into reverse. News flash to Ford: Dumbest idea ever!

    I just took mine out then turned it around and it doesnt lock out anymore.

    thats because there is reverse lockout built into the shift tower. the one on the shifter was pointless.
