For what it's worth, i'll be optimizing my stock y-pipe and calling it good enough. The gains are similar and it's much cheaper than buying an aftermarket one.
Keep in mind that a stock optimized y-pipe (depending on how far back you go to join the two pipes) is going to be just as good, if not better than either the MSDS or WR y-pipes. It is an identical setup, BUT the stock y-pipe is Mandrel bent...
Now, as far as there being a difference between that and either BAT or Trubendz due to losing the bend, i'm not sure. I've heard that before but i've never seen any actual proof that its true that you lose torque. I wouldn't be surprised, it makes sense to me that you would though.
