    Anyone know if there is a common problem that causes a CEL for EGR?

    humm....you should be getting a P402 code

    It is a p492 code for EGR. any common causes just clogged/stuck something else?

    P0492 or P0402?

    If P0402, check that DPFE hoses are intact, check connector, check wiring from connector to PCM, check DPFE or PCM.

    These are the common reasons for a P0402 code.
