Default Need help with CEL Codes from '95 Contour

Alright, so a buddy and I pulled the codes from the car and I have the list but I cannot seem to find anything on the forum since it changed. I search in the archives and had little luck there to so maybe some of the regulars can help me.

    Codes are:
    172
    173
    176
    177
    542

Thanks for anything you can do.

For O2 sensor codes, check O2 Fuse (For 1996, it is Fuse 13), and then sensor connectors before buying a new one.

As for fuel pump code (542), check connectors. (you may have to get a new pump).

172 Oxygen sensor not switching - system was lean
173 Oxygen sensor not switching - system was rich
176 Oxygen sensor not switching - system was lean
177 Oxygen sensor not switching - system was rich
542 Fuel pump open, bad ground or always on

you need a some new o2 sensors and you also need to find out which wires are bad on your fuel pump

If your engine runs and there are no symptoms directly attributable to the fuel pump, the 542 should be ignored. It usually gets set on OBD-I systems when the engine stalls.
