old dash on a new dash

kk i searched and it seems like some people say the 98 dash will fit on 2000 and some say it wont....., mines warped. looks like the 98.5 will for sure fit except i didnt think there was any difference between the 98 and 98.5. anyone know for sure if a 98 would fit. both would be from an svt....

98 and 98.5 are exactly the same except for one extremely minor detail that people will probably think I'm crazy for knowing. :crazy: :laugh:

98 and lower Contiques had painted white letters and symbols on the interior trim. Like locks said LOCK in white, the dash bezel showed open and closed vent symbols in white. For 98.5+, Ford switch to plain black raised plastic symbols.

In short, 98 passenger side vent = white painted symbols. 98.5 = raised black plastic symbols.

Ok, so thats my useless info for the day.

Also, make you get the trim below the steering column, the glovebox, and airbag.

Your 99-00 parts won't fit on it.
