Thumbs up TYC headlights from Rockauto!

Got new headlights Sat. and they look great! Recommend for anyone looking for lights. Fitment is awesome! These are the most expensive lights sold by Rockauto when you go to pick from the 2 options. The lower ones are most likely the supposedly ill fitting Depot lights. They came to $185 shipped and are made by TYC. I like the extra padding around the fender too. They come loaded up with Phillips bulbs. The turn signal bulbs were not supplied though. No matter how much polishing you do to your aged lights they won't look like these. I'll take a close pic tonight.

Hmmph. For the 96, Rockauto says TYC is part of the "various mfr" group (along with DEPO (Max Zone), Kool Vue, and TYG), one step up from economy, and there's no way to specify which mfr the part comes from.

Prices are good, though, and if the fitment is good, too...

I'm just confused. When you say "The lower ones are most likely the supposedly ill fitting Depot lights," do you mean the "DEPO" lights or some other? (The DEPO being of the same group as TYC.)

The "economy" lights are from "Eagle Eyes."

I have the TYC lights in my car and the fit and look is great. I'm wanting some new ones to do some modifications to now so I can spice up the front of the car!

    glad your order went well!!

I have TYC lights in my CSVT as well and they've looked great and fit great since I bought them last year.

I work at RA and in normal circumstances the "Economy line" lights for the 98+ WILL be Depot lights which most dont want. Various Manufacturer (more expensive) will be TYC and we normally do not substitute without permission - sometimes we need to special order the TYC lights but we can get them.

As far as the other non-composite lights (95 and so forth) I dont know what is avail. - sorry.

I must say though that the Contour headlights in general are a poor designe internally for like light output..The light pattern is just awfull imo..

but yea Todd your right, nothing beats the look of NEW headlights

Well tonight was the first time driving in the dark with them. I set my up and down to zero. Big mistake since they were pointed way down. Pretty awful on low beam. Got home and pointed them back up. I should have made note from my old ones before I took them out. Also does anyone know the left and right settings if they can see in there with the lights in the car. I can but you have to stick your head in there.

Get any good pics Todd? I'd like to see some close-up pics of them on the car. Also, can you tell at all, what they used to seal the lights up? When I buy a new set, I'll be tearing them apart for a projector project, and wondered if they use the same sealant as Ford.
