ignition coil?

how much if any gain would you get out of a performance ignition coil, like msd or accel?

you wont get any gain no, its just giving a better spark, which is useful if you are using nitrous or alot of other engine mods.

If you do end up getting one, go for the MSD.

I used to have an Accel coil and it failed in 6 months. Crappy construction. The housing cracked.

Your money is better spent on a CAI or UDP.

thanks im putting on a cai for sure, but the udp will be after my small amount of exhaust work and cai. As it is the most expensive thing on the list.

where are msd ignition coils available?

i found their site and wow, but question about their website. Should i be looking at the focus parts, escort parts or does it not matter?

most of the focus parts will work with little to no modification. make sure you get the MSD coil and a set of plug wires. the coil is different on the 98+ than the pre98. the MSD coil uses the pre98 style connectors for the plug wires.

Stock ignition is actually more powerful than either the Accel or MSD.
No need to upgrade, unless yours is not functioning properly, otherwise it's just a waste of money.
