    Default Question about getting tuned...

I have been running my 3L for a year now untuned. I've had no problems resulting from it, other than bad mpg and I'm sure a loss of power. I finally have the money to get tuned properly and I wanted to know what the best way of going about it is. Should I just go to any dyno-tuning place (reputable[sp?]) of course, and have them take care of it? Or should I take the time to find an SCT dealer and have them do the tuning? I do have the xcal2 and the prp, but I havent had half the amount of time I had planned to learn and read up on tuning so I would rather have a pro do it. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

If you already have those items I would highly recommend going to an SCT dealer as much of your cost is already out of the way. Maybe, if you are lucky, if you pay for the dyno time and their tuning work they can use your copy of PRP and show you what they are doing along the way. Its a long shot, but you never know. I mean they still get paid for their dyno being used and their expertise but you get to learn something along the way.

Either way I would still use and SCT dealer with an in house dyno and have them load the tune they build for you to your xcal. You should be able to search for local dealers on SCTs website.

Let Tom do it when he comes. He's the best around. And you will pay more just for time on the dyno at an SCT dealer than what Tom does...plus he works with you until you are satisfied.

He's coming somewhere lol he hasn't been online in a while (hasn't sent back to my pm)

I also have had Tom tune my car, good quality tune at a very affordable price. If you need a dyno tune you can have him shoot you a base tune and you can get it up on the dyno where you can datalog everything. Then forward him the dyno sheet and the data from your pull and he can fine tune from there.
