Default Side skirt, A/C, and moonroof, oh my!

No, this is not quite like lions, tigers and bears, oh my (that reminds me, only a few months to go before NFL season!) but is instead about the sorry state of maintenance of my car. I am soon to move out of a house with a garage; we're gonna hit the 90s for temperature soon and my moonroof motor or gear is MIA and my A/C needs a recharge and likely a bunch of new parts; and a week ago, I hit one of my side skirts against a divider curb in a parking lot. If you want to swing by and ding the body with a shopping cart, I can leave it parked by a food store for you.

Pardon the vent. I know money to heal some wounds will arrive at some point. And in the meantime it's still a blast to drive with 130K miles and NO car payments.

Ouch! That sucks! Damn curbs and crap... Just look at the bright side though -- at least you have a silver car and no A/C and not a black car and no A/C! I still need to replace my accumulator and get the system recharged on mine. Do you have a big leak in the system, or has it slowly just leaked out? Maybe you could get by with one of those recharge kits they have at auto parts stores instead of having to take it in to a shop.

I usually check the 'tour section at the junkyards for moonroof motors when I go there. I may hit the U-Pull-It in Damascus tomorrow, and I'll check their selection out if I do. I was at the one on Foster Rd a few weeks ago, and they had no moonroof motors left. There were only a couple of cars that had them to begin with. Too bad more people didn't order them! I don't think I've ever seen an SVT in the U-Pull-It yards, so I dunno about the side skirt.

If anyone sees a '91-'94 Mercury Capri in a yard, lemme know 'cause I could use a few parts yet. Thanks!

I checked at the Damascus U-Pull-It yesterday, and I saw no moonroof-equipped CDW27 cars and no SVTs there either. They do have an area that's now fenced-off, and there may still be some back there. I should have asked. Doh. Maybe you can give 'em a call. When I found my moonroof motor a few months ago, it was at the Tigard/Sherwood U-Pull-It.

Remarkable. I got an unsolicited PM from another CEGer from outside this branch offering to sell me a moonroof motor. Now if only dealing with side skirts was so easy... I'd had the A/C charged a year or two ago, and it blew cold afterwards, so the leak is not huge.

Anyway, if I go to the drags on 7/7/07, it will be with a beaterish-looking SVT.

My passenger side skirt got chewed on. Are you still planning on going to the drags Saturday, Mike?
