replacing window motor

How hard is it to replace the window motor on the pass side rear door? Also, The coil/strut (front driver side). This is one weird unit. How do you get it out. My spring is broke and I am planning on going to the junkyard to get a new strut to just swap in. I know I should just buy new ones but money is tight.

i replaced only the motor in mine, but i got the full unit from the junkyard. i had a hell of a time taking that out. maybe i wasn't doing something right:shrug: ...but it was a real pia :blackeye:

Don't know what year you have but on the 1998 Ford has a recall on the springs. 10 years 150,000 miles. I got both of mine replaced for free a few months ago. Be worth it to check it out.
